The Los Angeles Times reports: “Brutal crackdown has gay and transgender Egyptians asking: Is it time to leave?”

This is the kind of story that makes the left reflexively invoke what Steve Sailer calls the “Zeroth Amendment” – an imagined provision of the Constitution that so fully realizes our American ideals that it is realer than the actual Constitution, and that grants every tired, poor, or huddled mass of humanity the inalienable right to emigrate to the United States.

Now Juvenal is not a big fan of crackdowns; they just take so much energy. So he hopes this crackdown cracks up, and the queens and fairies of Egypt can get back to having a gay old time together.

But in any event, he hopes this crackdown doesn’t lead to the State Department offering refugee status to Egypt’s gays and transgenders. America’s bakers and florists are busy enough fighting not to serve the gays and transgenders we already have.

Tireder! Poorer! Huddlier!
